Spirit music update
Spirit artist Toby Mac, currently on the “Winter Wonder Slam Tour” is providing a few different ways for his fans to take a look behind the scenes of the tour. You can either link up to a special website that provides a blog written by Mac’s crew guys, or watch a special video titled “Something 2 Remember”. Links to both can be found on Mac’s website.
Jars of Clay member Dan Haseltine recently made a special guest appearance on the new Sixpence None the Richer Christmas album, “The Dawn of Grace.” Haseltine can be found on the classic track “Silent Night.” You can also find the song streaming online for free on Sixpence’s MySpace page.
In other holiday news, artist John Tesh is encouraging you to send him pictures of your outdoor Christmas décor. Each day, one lucky winner will receive a copy of Tesh’s New York Times best seller, “Intelligence for Your Life”, and his new “Best of Christmas” CD. You can enter the contest through Tesh’s website at tesh.com.
Spirit artist Michael W. Smith recently released his 21st album called “A New Hallelujah”. The album debuted at number one on the Nielsen SoundScan Christian Albums Chart with more than 23,000 records sold in its first week. Along with the new CD, Smith plans to release an accompanying DVD in March of 2009.
In other news, Forefront is re-launching a line of classic greatest hits albums by various artists including: DC Talk, Rebecca St. James, and Audio Adrenaline. There are twelve albums that have been chosen to be re-skinned in "green packaging" (better for the environment) with all new track lists. The new collections can also be found on iTunes.
Point of Grace recently released a new Christmas album titled “Tennessee Christmas”. The album features some of their favorite songs from their previous Christmas albums, and of course some new recordings as well. You can find the new album online at pointofgrace.net, where the first 1,000 sold will be autographed by the group.
